I love meeting people like Brit because they’re what the human spirit is all about. Make a plan / goal. Stick to it. When it gets hard, most quit. But not Brit, she dug deeper and has overcome. She has changed her eating habits (cutting out sugar is a legit detox people.. most can’t or won’t.. but Brit is different) and is on her way to what I think will be life altering change for the better.
I love having Brit in our community 🙂 She’s a busy mom, who wants to change her body. She commutes about 25-30 min just to come train with us, which I personally take as a massive compliment.
Thanks for giving me your best Brit. I appreciate you!
Why Did You Start Coming to Strong Body Boot Camp?
I have tried numerous times to lose weight on my own. Trying to eat less, exercise when I had time and nothing ever seemed to work. I would always give up within a matter of days. My sister announced recently that she is getting married next year and that I would be in the wedding. This really got me motivated as I was terrified of being the biggest person in the wedding party. Not only this, but I wanted to get healthy so I could be the best mom and role model possible for my kids.
Why Do You Continue To Come?
Because I love it! Seriously. The workouts are constantly changing, so it never gets boring. Strong Body has helped me tremendously, not only physically but mentally as well. I have always been super self-conscious walking into a gym. But even my first day, I was immediately welcome by everyone there and right away felt like I belonged there.
How Do You Find Time To Get Your Workouts In?
I made it a priority for myself. I always used to say that I was too busy because of work, kids, school, whatever it was. I now know that it was this excuse that was preventing me from my health goals. I now make working out a priority. I don’t always get super hyped to go in, usually because I am tired from a long day but every day that I go, I feel good knowing I went, I feel good after a workout.
What Tips Would You Offer Someone Who Is Just Beginning To Train?
Give it time. I had the hardest time when I first started because I just felt so weak. I was exhausted after every work out and just felt like it would never be enjoyable. After about 2 weeks of sticking with it, it was amazing how quickly I gained the energy and strength I was hoping for. Ask questions! The trainers at Strong Body are so knowledgeable and are always eager to answer any questions I have. Whether it is about nutrition, energy, weight loss goals or even whether or not I am doing an exercise correctly, they are always beyond helpful and always kind. Lastly, hang in there. You will be glad you did.
What Has Been The Biggest Benefit of Training for You?
I feel like I have control of my health again. Have I reached my end goal yet? Of course not, but I now know what it takes (realistically) to lose weight the healthy way and it takes time. Working with Strong Body has also introduced me to an amazing support system. Everyone that I have had the pleasure of working out with has always been kind, supportive and encouraging. I don’t feel like I am doing it alone anymore but have an entire support system encouraging me along the way.
Have You Seen Positive Results?
I have which was shocking to me! I have tried so many fad diets, workout plans, and crazy fasting regiments in the past that I never saw any success with. I have only been with Strong Body a short time but during this time I have gained energy and strength that I didn’t know would even be possible and have lost 12 pounds thus far on the scale. I have also increased my muscle percentage as well as decreased by fat percentage. I am beyond excited in continuing my fitness journey and having Strong Body by my side every step of the way!
